Motivation: To acquire a true eternal life.
Gunnar Lachlan died in ancient days well before the era when Excalibur came into the hands of a certain young king. He was a cruel beast of a man who reveled in tormenting others and subjecting them to creative and cruel tortures. For his sins he was cursed to walk the earth as an undead abomination.
